February 2012
Another group of the Chippers Development Programme graduated last Saturday, 4th February. They were addressed at the graduation celebration by the Castle Cove Golf Club President Angela, who invited them to continue playing by joining various competitions including the Saturday afternoon 9 hole comp.
A special welcome to Chippers, Darius and Peter, who have joined the club and we hope to see them in regular comps soon!
For Chippers lucky enough to be free on Mondays, there is talk of starting another social comp on Mondays at 10:30. Contact the Chippers Coordinator Meg, or Kate at the pro-shop for more details on 9417 5566.
January 2012
The Australia Day comp on 26th Jan, turned out to be a test of the game in wet condtions! Nevertherless, a full field endured the day and enjoyed a generous Australia Day BBQ and loads of prizes.
There was a terrific turn out for the New Years Day Tournament on 2/1/2012. Loads of great prizes were awarded to winners of all divisions as well as the top 12 teams. Congratulations to our Lady Captain, Myra and a new member, Trevor who won the day with an impressive score. Perfect weather was complimented by a generous BBQ lunch which saw many players stay in the Castle Bar well into the afternoon.
Congratulations to our Club Pro, Kate, her team and the Committee for putting on such a great event to start the new year.
Chippers Social Comps
All graduates of the Chipper Development Programme are invited to join the next Chippers social comp on Saturday 14th January.
December 2011
The Chippers Development Group have started a Saturday afternoon 9 hole comp, their first competition was on Saturday 3rd December. Congratulations to the winner, Darius, who won a Pro- Shop voucher. Runner up, winning a ball, was Wendy.
The following Saturday saw different Chippers taking the prizes with Dylan taking the men's first prize and Darius being the runner-up. Ladies winner for the voucher was Linda, and Maryann won the golf ball, a great result since it was the first time in a Comp for both ladies. Everyone was back with broad smiles and in good time to down some well earned refreshment at the bar. Another great day at CGC!
Saturday the 17th saw the fourth group of Chippers graduate. The are pictured below with golf Pro, Kate in Castlecove's Castle Bar

ALPG visits Castlecove Golf Club
The ALPG (Australian Ladies Professional Golf) tour took a detour on December 1 and spent a glorious afternoon at Castlecove to hone their short game skills before heading out of Sydney.
The girls were able to relax and all enjoyed the "friendly" match so they could play with their tour mates without the pressure of a tour event. Many of the participants are International tour players and were very impressed by our beautiful course, especially our famous greens.
We would like to extend our best wishes to their upcoming tour events and look forward to seeing them back next year!
